The following steps can help expedite the billing process:
- Provide accurate insurance information and current demographic information; contact the office with any insurance changes prior to the scheduled appointment or procedure

You can pay your FHSC bill online through our online portal or via mail at PO Box 24752, Seattle WA 98124-0752. We accept checks, major credit/debit cards, HSA payments and money orders for payments.
If you are unable to pay your balance when due, please contact our business office to make alternative arrangements. The First Hill Surgery Center business office will assign your account to collections if any outstanding balances or payments have not been collected within 90 days of services rendered.
Please provide us with a notice of at least 3 business days if you need to cancel or reschedule your surgery. We will charge a fee for missed appointments or cancellations.
Our financial counselors will contact your insurance carrier to verify benefits and eligibility prior to surgery, and will assist you in estimating your costs. We will bill your insurance carrier in a timely manner provided we have current insurance information. Before surgery our financial counselors will notify you if we need to collect a co-insurance or deductible amount prior to surgery. They are also available to discuss payment plans and financial assistance if needed. To contact a First Hill Surgery Center financial counselor please contact 206-320-6272.
Since insurance plans coverage can change, it’s a good idea to check with your health insurance company for specific information. Coverage provided by commercial insurance companies varies from plan to plan. Therefore, the amount for which the patient is responsible will also vary.
Bills from other providers
Your First Hill Surgery Center bill will cover fees associated with your use of the First Hill Surgery Center. You will receive separate bills from the anesthesia provider, any laboratory services, and your surgeon’s office. Each of these groups operate as separate businesses with their own billing and account processes. If you have questions about those bills and fees, please contact them directly.
The First Hill Surgery Center offers financial assistance to eligible patients who are not able to pay for their medical bills. Please review our financial assistance resources for more information. If you have been approved for financial assistance with your provider, please tell a First Hill Surgery Center financial counselor before your surgery. We will honor the financial assistance approved by your provider.
